Siemens has announced the phase-out of the G120P family of variable-speed drives used for pumps and fans in building services. The September 2026 announcement schedules the phase-out for October 2027 and covers the G120P product family together with related accessories and components.
For maintenance teams and building operators, the priority is to identify installed units and plan suitable replacement options. Siemens identifies SINAMICS G210X as a future direction, but the suitability of a particular replacement must be evaluated project by project.
Replacing a drive involves more than matching power ratings. Communication protocols, EMC requirements, HVAC functionality and existing control logic all need to be considered. Early planning can reduce the risk of unplanned downtime.
